The Pioneer Village

The Pioneer Village, 2491 Babb Rd., features pioneer buildings from the late 1800s. Structures include the 1889 Lanier Cracker House, home to a prominent rancher's family, which also includes a wash house, smoke house and gardens; the one-room 1892 Tyson House, home to a farmer's family with 11 children; and the Cadman Complex, which features the two-bedroom bungalow of a well-to-do investor's family, a bachelor's quarters and a citrus-packing house. The grounds also hold a ranch caretaker's house circa 1932, a reproduction of a blacksmith's shop and a Seminole Indian dwelling called a chickee.
