AAA Editor Notes
Key West Shipwreck Treasures Museum, 1 Whitehead St. in Old Mallory Square, is in a reproduction of the wreckers warehouse that originally stood on the site. Costumed actors interact with visitors and recreate the events of the wreck and salvage of the Isaac Allerton, which sank in 1856. Artifacts from the shipwreck are on display. A 65-foot observation tower provides a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.
