Betty Ford Alpine Gardens is off I-70 exit 176 to 522 S. Frontage Rd. in Ford Park. An alpine rock garden showcases a 120-foot cascading waterfall and hundreds of native plants that depict alpine and subalpine habitats. A perennial garden features more than 1,500 varieties of plants, and a meditation garden combines Asian design and philosophy with Rocky Mountain plantings. Prime viewing season is May through September. A children's garden features a treasure hunt, a discovery cart and a schoolhouse museum. Children’s programs also are offered.
