Otero Museum is at 218 Anderson Ave. Guides take visitors through the museum, which has memorabilia from La Junta and the surrounding lower Arkansas Valley area dating from 1875-1945. Displays focus on transportation, including an 1867 Old Overland Stage and early fire engines; a home and grocery store furnished in the early 20th-century style; a 19th-century wood-framed structure formerly used as a boarding house; La Junta’s first schoolhouse; a mini post office; and a mustache cup collection.
