Royal Gorge Route Railroad

Royal Gorge Route Railroad departs from the historic Santa Fe Depot at 401 Water St. (3rd St. and US 50). The 20-mile journey follows the Arkansas River through the scenic Royal Gorge and crosses a hanging bridge where the gorge narrows to 30 feet wide. Passengers select from several classes of service including Coach, Vista Dome, Parlor, Club and Cab. Special events include Mother's Day, Murder Mystery, Oktoberfest, a wine train and dinner train. The Santa Express, with afternoon and evening departures Nov. through Dec., features Santa, gifts for kids, cookies and hot cocoa. Breakfast and lunch train rides also are available.

Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
