University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC)

University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), corner of Bay and High sts., was founded in 1965 on a 2,000-acre portion of Cowell Ranch, overlooking Monterey Bay. Roads and walkways situated amid redwood groves and meadows connect nine residential colleges. Barn Theater, just inside the main entrance, is a former horse barn turned 158-seat theater. Self-guiding tour maps are available at the main entrance information booth.
