Alum Rock Park

Alum Rock Park is e. of US 101 on Alum Rock Ave.; use Penitencia Creek Rd. for vehicle access to the park. A 730-acre site in the foothills, the park offers scenic views of the Santa Clara Valley, picnic facilities, mineral springs, marked trails and the Youth Science Institute. The institute's science and nature center features animal exhibits such as birds of prey that have been injured and cannot be released back into the wild.

Landslides sometimes close the road through the park. Dogs are not permitted.
