Aquarium of the Bay

Aquarium of the Bay is at Pier 39 at The Embarcadero and Beach St. Permanent exhibits allow visitors to learn about San Francisco Bay ecosystems; see, through clear acrylic tunnels, marine life such as sharks and sea stars; and encounter underwater bay residents at several touch pools. The exhibit Otters Up Close focuses on river otters, semi-aquatic mammals that are members of the weasel family and common denizens of Bay Area waterways. Naturalists are available to answer questions. Behind-the-Scenes and Feed-the-Sharks tours also are available.
