San Diego Air & Space Museum

San Diego Air & Space Museum, in Balboa Park in the Ford Building at 2001 Pan American Plaza, is a Smithsonian Institution affiliate. Highlights include the Apollo 9 Command Module, a replica of Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis and the only Global Positioning Satellite on public display. Interactive exhibits include two simulators and a 3-D/4-D movie theater. The Kid's Aviation Action Hangar encourages play. A 45- to 60-minute tour of the aircraft restoration facility also is available.

Note: San Diego Air & Space Museum Gillespie Field Annex and its additional displays can be found about 19 miles away on the north side of Gillespie Field.
