National Steinbeck Center

National Steinbeck Center is at One Main St. The John Steinbeck Exhibition Hall's several themed galleries feature interactive exhibits about Steinbeck's life and literature. Stage settings and film clips help bring this Nobel prize-winning author's works to life; other displays allow you to explore “Cannery Row” and “Of Mice and Men.” Visitors also can see the camper that transported the author and his poodle Charley across America, an experience that was the basis for the episodic travelogue “Travels with Charley.”
