“Hat In Three Stages of Landing”

“Hat In Three Stages of Landing” is on the lawn at the Salinas Community Center. Claes Oldenberg's giant sculpture depicts three hats at different levels, each painted a vivid yellow and weighing approximately 3,500 pounds. The sculpture is a tribute to farmers and ranchers and represents a Western hat tossed in the air from the nearby rodeo stands.
