Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay

Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay spans the Sacramento River, linking Turtle Bay Exploration Park's two campuses. Designed by noted Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava, the artistic sundial design features a glass deck that is illuminated at night. The steel, glass and granite suspension bridge, 700 feet long, is for pedestrian traffic only and has public plazas at each end. The bridge pylon and cables create changing shapes, shadows and angles depending on the viewpoint.
