GSBF Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt

GSBF Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt is in Lakeside Park on Bellevue Ave., near the Lakeside Park Demonstration Garden. The intricate art of bonsai is on display. A curved pathway leads visitors to approximately 90 plantings, including the first bonsai brought into the United States during the time of Abraham Lincoln's presidency and a bonsai that was on display at the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition. Docents can provide background information.
