June Lake Loop Recreation Area

June Lake Loop Recreation Area, w. of US 395 on SR 158, covers approximately 60,000 acres. The 15-mile June Lake Loop travels around a chain of four lakes—June, Gull, Silver and Grant—and provides access to fishing, boating and other recreation activities. Several trailheads along the route enter the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Mono Craters, Lee Vining Canyon and Tioga Pass are nearby.

The Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center is on US 395 one-half mile north of Lee Vining and features exhibits detailing the area's history, geology and wildlife.

Recreational activities are permitted.
