South Tufa Area

South Tufa Area is off SR 120E, 5 mi. e. of US 395. Part of the Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve and the Mono Basin National Forest Scenic Area, this portion of Mono Lake’s shore has one of its largest groupings of tufa spires. A self-guiding nature trail leads down to the shore from the parking lot.
