South Coast Railroad Museum, 300 N. Los Carneros Rd., is centered on the wooden Goleta Depot that was built in 1901 and used until 1973. Railroad artifacts, photographs and hands-on exhibits are in the agency office and passenger waiting room. A 300-square-foot HO-scale model railroad is displayed, and an old Southern Pacific caboose is open for inspection. Rides aboard a miniature train are available.
