AAA Editor Notes
Cosumnes River Preserve is 2.4 mi. n. on SR 99, 7 mi. w. off exit 277 on SR 104 (Twin Cities Rd.), then 1.8 mi. s. to the visitor center at 13501 Franklin Blvd. The preserve protects more than 50,000 acres. A sampling of the habitats can be appreciated by two brief walks, a paddle trip on the Cosumnes River or a self-guiding driving tour.

The visitor center has interpretive displays and information about habitats and native wildlife. From here visitors can access the paved, 1-mile Lost Slough Wetlands Walk, a boardwalk that leads to an observation platform. The Cosumnes River Walk is a 3-mile dirt trail along marshes and the river and through forested areas. Non-gas-powered boats can launch from a boat dock. Visitors also can participate in volunteer restoration activities.
