San Diego Botanic Garden

San Diego Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Dr., encompasses 37 acres of rare plants, a waterfall and 4 miles of self-guiding trails. California native plants, exotic tropical plants, palms, bamboos and unusual plant collections thrive in the gardens' deep canyons and sunny hillsides. A chaparral area serves as a natural bird refuge. Seeds of Wonder and the Hamilton Children's Garden offer interactive opportunities for young ones.

Picnicking is permitted in designated areas; tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
