Big Bear Alpine Zoo, 42801 Moonridge Rd., has as residents approximately 160 injured or orphaned wildlife. Those animals that can survive in the wild following rehabilitation are returned to their natural environments. Inhabitants include snow leopards, coyote, wolves, mountain lions, black and grizzly bears, foxes, birds and reptiles. In the summer, visitors can accompany keepers on their daily feeding rounds.

Note: The zoo is planning to relocate to the junction of Moonridge Road and Club View Drive, but a date has not yet been set. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
