Riviera del Pacífico

Riviera del Pacífico is in the center of town at Blvd. Lázaro Cárdenas (Costero) and Av. Riviera. Also called the Civic, Social and Cultural Center (Centro Cívico, Social y Cultural), this elegant Moorish-style mansion was formerly a gambling casino and hotel as well as a favored gathering place for wealthy Americans and Mexicans during the Prohibition era. Visitors can admire the painted, beamed ceilings and tile mosaics, view historic photos and murals that line the walls, wander through the beautifully landscaped gardens and have a drink at the Andaluz bar.

The building also houses the Museum of History (Museo de Historia), which has artifacts and dioramas recalling Baja's early days.
