War Eagle Cavern

War Eagle Cavern is 17 mi. e. on SR 12 to 21494 Cavern Dr. Set in the Ozark mountains on the shores of Beaver Lake, the cavern once sheltered Native Americans. Guided 1-hour tours reveal stalactites, stalagmites, fossils, Arkansas quartz crystal, an underground stream and a rimstone dam waterfall room; a nature trail is on the grounds. The cave also is home to 100,000 Arkansas brown and grey bats. Aboveground activities include gemstone panning and the “Lost in the Woods Maze.”

Cave temperature is 58 degrees F year-around. Walkways are wide, level, and pet- and stroller-friendly.
