Petit Jean State Park is 9 mi. s. on SR 9, then 12 mi. w. on SR 154 to Petit Jean Mountain Rd. Perched on flat-topped Petit Jean Mountain, the park boasts an array of natural features including 95-foot Cedar Falls, Indian Cave, Bear Cave, Rock House Cave and two gravel scenic drives overlooking Cedar Creek Canyon, Red Bluff Drive and the Palisades. The Seven Hollows region contains the unusual Turtle Rocks, the Grotto and the Petit Jean Natural Bridge.
The mountain's name is taken from the legend of a French girl who disguised herself as a boy and accompanied her sailor sweetheart to America. Many points of interest are reached by foot trails.
