Joe Hogan State Fish Hatchery

Joe Hogan State Fish Hatchery is 1 mi. s. on US 70 at 23 Joe Hogan Ln. Considered the largest state-owned warm-water fish hatchery in the country, the facility has 57 ponds producing nearly 7 million fish annually for stocking public lakes and streams. The main species are largemouth bass, black and white crappie, bluegill and channel catfish. Spawning season is April through July. A visitor center features seven aquariums and indoor displays.
