AAA Editor Notes
Remington Carriage Museum is at 623 Main St. More than 250 19th- and early 20th-century horse-drawn vehicles are showcased. Interactive displays and exhibit galleries provide the feeling of riding in the horse-drawn transportation of that era, and an introductory multimedia presentation provides an overview of that time.
The exhibit galleries, which include a blacksmith shop and livery stable, carriage factory, carriage dealership, working restoration shop, frontier settlement and racetrack, depict 19th-century society and its dependence on this mode of transportation. Sound effects, lighting and audiovisual presentations enhance many of the presentations. In summer visitors may schedule 15-minute rides on vintage and reproduction carriages.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
