Jewell Gardens & Glassworks

Jewell Gardens & Glassworks is 1.5 mi. n. on Klondike Hwy. Once the site of a late 19th-century vegetable farm known best for its rhubarb, the gardens feature such spectacular flowers as begonias, delphiniums, lilacs, nasturtiums and poppies. The mountains along the Lynn Canal serve as a backdrop to the site, which also is home to organic herb and vegetable gardens and a greenhouse. At the glassblowing theater, visitors may observe daily demonstrations. Guided tours feature hands-on glassblowing demonstrations.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
