Chugach State Park

Chugach State Park is e. on Seward Hwy. Wildlife populations flourish within the park's 773 square miles of mountains, rivers, lakes and glaciers, home to a variety of wildlife including large mammals like black and brown bears, Dall sheep, moose and mountain goats, and small mammals such as beaver, lynx, wolverines and wolves as well as spawning salmon and numerous birds. Major areas are Eklutna Lake, Eagle River, Anchorage Hillside and Turnagain Arm. A number of recreational activities are available. The park's headquarters is in the historic Potter Section House, at Milepost 115 of the Seward Highway.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
