W.C. Handy Home and Museum

W.C. Handy Home and Museum, 620 W. College St. at jct. Marengo St., is the birthplace of composer and musician William C. Handy. Known as “Father of the Blues,” Handy was born in the log cabin Nov. 16, 1873. The house contains his piano, trumpet, memorabilia and tributes from renowned people.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
