Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve

Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve is at 1214 81st St. S. The nature center of this 1,038-acre forest and wildlife sanctuary focuses on Ruffner Mountain's biology, geology and history and features the Tree Top Visitor Center with animal exhibits and the Mountainside Pavilion, used for picnics and events. There are 12 miles of hiking trails; one trail ends at an overlook with a panoramic view of the city. A wetland with a boardwalk also is on the grounds.

Street parking is available for visitors wanting trail access when visitor center gate is closed.
