Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center

Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center is at 95 Sterling Hwy. The center presents an overview of the area through interpretive exhibits about Kachemak Bay; local estuaries; research ships; and the seabird and marine inhabitants of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. An outdoor nature trail links the 60-acre site with Bishop's Beach Park on Kachemak Bay. Naturalist-led tours are offered, and a short movie about the Aleutian Islands is shown.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
