The Parthenon

The Parthenon is the centerpiece of Centennial Park at 2500 W. End Ave. at jct. 25th Ave. This is a full-size replica of the Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The only such replica in the world, the Nashville Parthenon was built for the Tennessee Centennial Exposition of 1897 and today houses the city's permanent art collection. Inside its stately white columns is a 42-foot-high gold statue of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Docents are available to answer questions.
