Tropical Agriculture Research Station

Tropical Agriculture Research Station is on Rte. 65 between rtes. 2 and 108. Since its establishment on an old plantation in 1901, the tropical research center of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has fostered the development of more than 2,000 tropical plant species from around the world. A well-marked self-guiding tour covers most of the important areas. Because of frequent afternoon rains, morning visits are best.
