A beautiful rural portrait unfolds along PR 9/PR 247, which highlights the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley. The route is bordered by seemingly endless fields of wheat and canola and follows the Qu'Appelle River. The waterway flows into several lakes, including Round Lake, which is popular with anglers. The byway also passes another recreational haven, Crooked Lake.

Together, PR 9 and PR 247 form a route that arcs north from the Trans-Canada Highway to the scenic Qu'Appelle Valley. Farmland and splendid natural features surround you as you traverse these two-lane roads. Flanked by gently rolling wheat and hay fields, PR 247 parallels the path of the Qu'Appelle River and also affords dazzling views of Crooked and Round lakes.
