The Lookout Mountain Parkway Scenic Byway is a delightful drive year round, but especially beautiful during the fall, color season. CR 89/SR 176/SR 117, from Gadsden, AL to the Georgia border, takes you through heavily wooded farmland and quaint towns and villages. Also, witness breathtaking views of canyons, scenic vistas through the parks and preserves at the north end of the route.

Natural beauty abounds on two-lane Lookout Mountain Parkway Scenic Byway. This off-the-beaten-path drive meanders through northeastern Alabama toward Lookout Mountain. Stretches of this country road feature farmland with the sight of the occasional old barn, charming hamlets and wooded areas like DeSoto State Park.
