Most of SR 118 is a winding road the goes through the southwestern portion of the White Mountain National Forest. This quaint two-lane highway is flanked by a dense forest of deciduous and evergreen trees that completely envelop the road and are a delight when fall colors are in season.

This narrow two-lane highway with its many curves meanders through the White Mountain National Forest. As you journey down the scenic byway you will be surrounded by a beautiful canopy of beech, eastern hemlock, red spruce and sugar maple trees that hugs the road.
