Lakewold Gardens is 9 mi. s. on I-5 to exit 124, then 1 mi. w. to 12317 Gravelly Lake Dr. S.W. Garden highlights of this 10-acre former private estate include formal parterres and topiaries, Japanese maples and rhododendrons, a giant Douglas fir that creates its own shade garden, an 18th-century sculptured lion fountain and a medieval Knot Garden with unusual plants. Self-guiding tours are available. The Georgian-style manor also is open to visitors.
