This classic New England turn-of-the-century resort has been fully restored into an unrivaled destination set within a spectacular natural setting along a pond and estuary, that is home to many birds. A full-time naturalist coordinates daily activities, including bird-watching, beach walks, craft-making, and nighttime stargazing. In the summer, guests can enjoy shuffleboard, bocce, kayaking, and paddleboard yoga on the calm pond waters. An electric boat cruise runs twice daily during the season, offering a guided history of the area. There is also access to a private ocean beach, with attendants available during the warmer months. Originally opened in 1899, the resort moved to its picturesque Quonochontaug Pond location in 1939 after the Great Hurricane of 1938.
