Burning Coal Vein Area

Burning Coal Vein Area is 15 mi. n.w. of Amidon via county and forest gravel roads. The vein burned approximately 30 feet below the surface up until the 1980s. Also in the area is the state's last known stand of native ponderosa pines.

Camping is permitted.
