University Museum and Historic Houses

University Museum and Historic Houses are 5 blks. e. of the University of Mississippi campus on University Ave. at Fifth St. The University of Mississippi Museum's world-class collection spans objects from Greek and Roman antiquity to such 20th-century masters as Georgia O'Keeffe, and also features the outstanding regional collections of Theora Hamblett and Folk Art from the American South. Educational programs are aimed at all ages. The museum complex includes Rowan Oak and the Walton-Young Historic House, once home to critic and satirist Stark Young.
