Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is at 33303 Headquarters Rd. The 60,000-acre park is popular for camping, skiing and backpacking; natural history programs are offered. Lake of the Clouds Scenic Overlook, on an escarpment above the lake at the western end of SR 107, offers an excellent view. Panoramas also can be enjoyed from Summit Peak. A .75-mile boardwalk along Presque Isle River passes several waterfalls. Interpretive programs are available in summer; phone ahead for schedule. More than 90 miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails run throughout the park.

Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted.
