Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center

Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center, 1 mi. n. of Sharpsburg on SR 65 at 5831 Dunker Church Rd., at the battlefield entrance, has exhibits pertaining to this significant Civil War conflict. Five oil murals by Capt. James Hope, a battle participant, illustrate various Antietam battle scenes. A 26-minute film and ranger-led interpretive talks are offered daily. Guided tours designed for families with children also are available.
