Northwestern University

Northwestern University, at the corner of Sheridan Rd. and Chicago Ave., is one of the nation's leading private universities. Founded in 1851, it has a campus in Evanston and one in Chicago; the latter includes the medical and law schools. Noted buildings include University Library, which has rare books and art exhibits; Dearborn Observatory, which offers public viewing Friday evenings; and Pick-Staiger Concert Hall.
