Gamble Plantation Historic State Park and Judah P. Benjamin Confederate Memorial

Gamble Plantation Historic State Park and Judah P. Benjamin Confederate Memorial, 3708 Patten Ave., was a prosperous 3,500-acre sugar plantation from about 1845 to the late 1850s. The antebellum mansion is furnished in period. At the end of the Civil War, Judah P. Benjamin, secretary of state of the Confederacy, found refuge here before escaping to England.
