Tudor Place Historic House and Garden is in Georgetown at 1644 31st St. N.W. Guided 1-hour tours take visitors through this 1816 neoclassic house built for Thomas Peter and his wife, Martha Custis Peter, granddaughter of Martha Washington. It reflects six generations of family life illustrated in paintings, furniture and decorative arts, including a historically important collection of Mount Vernon heirlooms. Landscaped grounds and a garden, which can be seen on a self-guiding tour, surround the house.
