AAA Inspector Notes
Antiques and original artwork decorate this restored 1891 hotel, which is located in LoDo near the train station and within quick access of many restaurants, boutiques and event venues. The ornately painted lobby ceilings, Western-theme oil paintings and luxurious seating areas evoke a 19th-century elegance without pretentiousness. This hotel houses one of my favorite bars, the Cruise Room. This bar is shaped like a wine or alcohol bottle and features original Art Deco décor. Guest rooms feature tasteful Victorian- or Art Deco-inspired décor with high-thread-count linens, antique or custom-made furnishings, and flat-screen TVs. Although there are some difficulties for a structure built in 1891, this hotel has made great strides in becoming eco-friendly. In the evenings, guests gather in the lobby for the complimentary bourbon bar to sample local bourbons.
Smoke free premises. 80 units. 5 stories, interior corridors.
