North Cheyenne Cañon Park is reached via Cheyenne Blvd. Striking rock formations and waterfalls, notably Helen Hunt Falls and Silver Cascade Falls, characterize the 1,626-acre canyon. Hiking and biking trails, some challenging, are available. A permit is required for technical rock climbing.
Starsmore Discovery Center, 2120 N. Cheyenne Cañon Rd. at the east entrance of the park, is a visitor center with exhibits about area wildlife, the history of the park and nature programs. Another visitor center is at Helen Hunt Falls, 3 miles up the canyon at 3440 N. Cheyenne Cañon Rd. Both centers offer exhibits, special youth programs and hummingbird watching in summer.
Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
