San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area

San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area, 12 mi. w. on SR 152, is an important link in the Central Valley Project and the California Water Project. Swimming, windsurfing, boating and fishing are permitted at the recreation area, which includes three lakes as well as San Luis Creek, Los Baños Detention Dam and the O'Neill Forebay. The Romero Visitors Center provides visitors with a video program, telescopes for viewing the surrounding region and information about the water projects. Note: All boats must be inspected for the presence of zebra mussels.
